Summary
- TACAs are short oligosaccharides on the surface of cancer cells. They play key roles in cellular communication, immune evasion, apoptosis and metastasis.
- TCX-101 is a novel, first-in-class monoclonal antibody with high affinity for its TACA target.
- In a multi-resistant human breast cancer cell line (HCC1428), standard-of-care compounds did not reduce cell viability at physiologically relevant concentrations. TCX-101 ADCs remained active and reduced cell viability by up to 60 %.
TCX-101 has since been developed further as a T-cell engager, because its target internalizes slowly (see AACR 2025 and AACR 2026).
