Tacalyx is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated biological laboratory technician or biological technical assistant (BTA, m/f/d) for its team in Berlin-Adlershof. The focus is on daily lab work, above all the culture of a range of mammalian cell lines, and on the organization of the lab, with the chance to learn a broad spectrum of biological and analytical techniques.
Tasks
- Culture of eukaryotic cell lines (adherent, suspension, primary cells)
- Regular mycoplasma testing and checks of cell line integrity
- Maintaining and organizing the lab infrastructure, including contact with technicians for maintenance and repair of lab equipment
- Keeping track of stock and ordering lab supplies
- Preparing buffers and cell culture media
- Cell-based, antibody-based and molecular biology methods
Profile
- Completed training as a biological laboratory technician, BTA or a comparable qualification
- Above-average experience in the sterile culture of mammalian cell lines (adherent cells, suspension cells, PBMCs), including media preparation and cell counts
- Experience with cell- or antibody-based assays such as flow cytometry, ELISA, Western blot, proliferation or cytotoxicity assays is a plus
- Very good German; English is a big advantage
- Careful work and the motivation to help the team develop new technologies
- EU visa and/or work permit
